#ECMeetUp: We came, we saw, we ate mini cupcakes
Our 2nd #ECMeetUp for 2016 (lovingly referred to as “the mini meet”) took place this past Saturday at The Athenaeum. We called it a mini meet because we weren’t up to pulling off another massive meet, with all the frills and bows, as per the last time. In our heads (well, in Elles head and in my spreadsheet brain) we planned a small get together, with little brand involvement. But our friends over at Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism decided to blow our minds and we ended up having a semi-mini-meet of sorts that resembled a regular major meet! -
#ECMeetUp guest speakers, Colours of You SA
One of my favorite things about the #ECMeetUp (or any of our national meet ups for that matter) is that it creates a cool opportunity for bloggers to learn from industry experts. I mean, sure we have Google, but sometimes we need our Google to have a face. With that said, meet the 5 (very good looking) faces belonging to meet up guest speakers, Colours of You SA.Instagram creative, COYSA, will be taking the stage to teach us how to get max benefit from the app. They will also share tips on how to take amazing pics for your blog and other photography related stuff. (Clue: there will be an exhibition of sorts! Eeek) Did I mention that they look like they could be a culturally diverse pop band? Because they totally do. See for yourself:

#ECMeetUp: Hey EC Bloggers, check this out!
EC Bloggers, Ella and I are so excited! We’ve finally secured our guest speakers and venue and can now officially invite you to get your tickets for our next #ECMeetUp! Woohoo!Although this is a “mini meet” (think meet up, but like, Smurf version), it sometimes feels like we are basically planning another full on meet up. Bells and whistles included. We are trying to control ourselves, but alas. All the evidence shows that we are failing misrebly!

Hello. My name is Luchae and I am tired. Well, besides for the fact that my body still needs to rest after fighting that crazy throat infection; my babe is teething (it’s the back teeth and she is so not happy) and it seems that everyone and their dog has decided to take leave at work. Because of that and many other factors, I’ve chosen not to bore you with the extreme details of what I’d give to get a good night’s sleep right now. #ECMeetUp: It actually happened! (&pics to prove it)

Why? Well, because we had just about the best #ECMeetUp, in the history of EC meet ups! (Probably, because it was the first one, I hear you say. Details, minor details).

Mother’s Day is for Mothers
Mother’s Day is around the corner (Sunday, 8th May, to be exact) and while I am aware that I am a mother (and have been one for a very long time) I have yet to earn the perks that come with a Mother’s Day. The simple reason is that my mom and Hubstopher’s mom is still around (and very much kicking) and so the Mother’s Day celebration quota gets evenly distributed between the two of them, leaving nothing but a Sunday school handmade gift for me (sniff sniff sob sob). Not that I mind. Those Sunday school gifts are usually very charming. But this year, I’m like, you know what? I want some Mother’s Day celebrations too!

Creative journaling with the Inspire Bible {Review}
I love Easter time. I love that we get to celebrate the life of Jesus and how this period acknowledges his life and death to be real and not some fictitious story, made up and put into a book. There are so many cool ways you could celebrate this time with your kideos. I’ve recently spent some time celebrating with my Inspire Bible but I know many people opt for Easter egg hunts and chocolate parties (and hey, I love chocolate yo!). This is one of those times where I can’t wait for my girl to be a bit older so that I could explore the other ways of celebrating the cross. -

So as the 14th of May draws closer (yes, I am aware that it’s still March) Elle and I excitedly prep for our very first (and soon to be annual) Eastern Cape bloggers get together. The #ecmeetup has all kinds of wonderful things awaiting us such as the droolworthy brag bags and really awsome special giveaways (That I’m not allowed to win. #ecmeetup guest speaker: Megan Kelly Botha
On the 14th of May a bunch of us bloggers, from the Eastern Cape, are getting together to do blog stuff. You know, talk about blogging, learn about blogging, meet other bloggers and then, eventually, blog about it all. We are so excited about our fabulous #ecmeetup guest speaker and Eleanor (over at JustEllaBella) and I have hooked up aaaack-worthy giveaways and swag bags!
